Who is Dua Lipa?

Dua Lipa [Nickname: Dula Peep] is an English and Albanian singer, Model, and Songwriter.

She speaks English with a British accent in addition to her native Albanian language. She is 28 years old and stands 5’8″ tall. Anesa Lipa and Dukagjin Lipa are her parents. In 1999, Seit Lipa, her grandfather, passed away from a myocardial infarction while working as a historian at the Kosovo Institute of History.

On August 22, 1995, Dua Lipa was born in West Hampstead, London, to Kosovo Albanian parents who had emigrated from Pristina during the 1990s. She took part-time classes at Sylvia Young Theatre School before her family relocated to Kosovo in 2008. Lipa’s father was a singer and she grew up listening to her father, singer Dukagjin Lipa. When she was fourteen years old, she started uploading YouTube covers of her favorite songs by musicians like P!nk and Nelly Furtado. Nevertheless, Her goal was to become a singer, so at fifteen she returned to London and started working as a model. In 2013, she starred in an advertisement for The X Factor.

Lipa started collaborating on her Warner Music Group debut album in 2015. Produced by Emile Haynie and Andrew Wyatt, her debut single “New Love” was released in August of 2015.

Lipa has won numerous accolades, including the EBBA Public Choice Award in 2017 and the Brit Awards in January 2018, where she was the only artist nominated in five categories. She received nominations for MasterCard British Album of the Year (Dua Lipa), British Video of the Year (“New Rules”), British Female Solo Artist, British Breakthrough Act, and British Single of the Year (“New Rules”). It was the first time a female artist had been nominated five times.

Lipa’s personal stylist is Lorenzo Posocco. In 2019, she shared her first Grammy Award with Diplo and her close friend Mark Ronson. Ronson is her big brother, in her own words. Her partner at the time was Anwar Hadid, a model, and Bella and Gigi Hadid’s younger brother.

started a formal relationship with French director Romain Gavras in 2023 while attending the French film entry, The King of Algiers, at the Cannes Film Festival.
